Helping people in Nottingham
hear better

Hi, I’m Alex – HCPI accredited and fully insured for ear wax removal. Based in West Bridgford, I bring a professional mobile ear wax removal service to people experiencing hearing loss or discomfort, travelling to homes across Nottingham. With a gentle, unhurried approach and flexible appointments designed around you, my aim is to make the experience as comfortable and effective as possible.

My passion for this work is deeply personal. I’ve seen first-hand just how much of a difference clear hearing can make — watching a close family member reconnect with conversations, regain their confidence and simply enjoy everyday life again was something that really stayed with me.

It’s what inspired me to found Earresistible — and why I love what I do.

Why choose Earresistible for ear wax removal

  • The improvement was immediately noticeable

I highly recommend this service. After waiting over a month for a GP appointment for ear wax removal, I was uncomfortable and struggling to hear properly. Fortunately, I found Alex, who was able to offer me an appointment within just a few days.

Alex was professional, knowledgeable, and made the entire process straightforward and comfortable. She explained everything clearly and helped me feel at ease. The improvement was immediately was noticeable.

I would strongly recommend booking with Alex.

  • My hearing after I can only describe as ‘bionic’ !

After having no treatment for almost 10 years I cannot believe what I saw in my ear drum !!

Alex has a digital camera that showed me the amount of wax blocking my ear drum… pretty shocked at the amount that she removed ! My hearing after I can only describe as ‘bionic’.

Very happy – will be seeing Alex again definitely.

    Thank you

Alex is very professional and caring and goes to the trouble of explaining In.

Alex details exactly what she is going to do and gives clear before and after images so that’s it’s clear exactly what the treatment has achieved.

Here’s everything you need to know before booking, and if your question isn’t here, please get in touch.

Ear wax removal is no longer routinely available on the NHS. Private treatment offers a fast, convenient alternative with no referral needed and no waiting list — available at a time that suits you.

Most people find the procedure very comfortable and many feel instant relief afterwards. You may experience some mild tickling, pressure or temporary noise during treatment but this should not be painful. Any minor side effects such as temporary dizziness or discomfort subside quickly.

Yes — ear wax removal is safe for adults aged 18 and over. Both microsuction and ear irrigation are established, clinically recognised treatments. Every appointment includes a full consultation and ear examination beforehand to ensure the most appropriate and safe treatment is selected.

Your appointment will last around an hour in total. This allows for a full consultation and examination of the ear before treatment begins. The procedure itself usually takes up to 30 minutes depending on how much wax is present and whether one or both ears need treating.

Microsuction uses a gentle suction device to remove wax without water — it’s the gold standard method and suitable for most patients including hearing aid wearers.

Ear irrigation uses a controlled flow of warm water to gently flush wax out and is a reliable alternative when microsuction isn’t suitable.

The most appropriate method will be recommended during your consultation — there’s no need to decide in advance.

Yes, it’s recommended to apply olive oil drops or spray twice a day to each affected ear for at least three days before your appointment. This softens the wax and helps ensure it can be removed in a single visit. Please avoid Otex as this can make wax sticky and harder to remove. Full preparation details are sent upon booking.

Absolutely — the mobile service is especially beneficial for those with mobility challenges or who find travelling difficult. Treatment takes place entirely in the comfort and safety of your own home. Earresistible is experienced in supporting elderly clients and those with additional needs, with a gentle and unhurried approach throughout.

Just like your eyesight, your ear health deserves regular attention — even if you’re not experiencing obvious symptoms. Some people naturally produce more earwax than others and may benefit from treatment once or twice a year. Personalised advice on frequency will be given following your appointment.
